It's not hard to understand why Ranch salad dressing is so popular, it's creamy, tart, flavorful and... well, just plain delicious. But sadly enough, buying a bottle of store-bought dressing (even one's that are marketed to appeal "healthy") are loaded with harmful ingredients that you would never want to eat by themselves.
So why spoil a deliciously healthy salad with hydrogenated oils, sugar or high fructose corn syrup and preservatives? Ditch the bottle, grab a jar and a handful of ingredients and get ready to change up your salad dressing game for good!
This dressing is super easy to make, just load everything up in a mason jar or container, give it a vigorous shake and BOOM! You got salad dressing ready to go in no time!
I made this recipe twice, using both full-fat plain yogurt for each. One batch I made with regular yogurt (thinner) and the other Greek yogurt (thicker with more protein) and both came out absolutely delicious! If you are using Greek yogurt, you may want to add a touch more vinegar (or water) to thin it out, but go with your consistency preferences.
I had fresh dill in the house (can't seem to find dried dill at Trader Joe's lately) so it was SO fresh and delightful on top of a BLT-style salad. Feel free to add any other dried spices such as onion powder, parsley or oregano, but I like my dressing simple yet flavorful. Double the recipe and keep this in the fridge for up to 5 days in an airtight jar or container so you have one less thing to worry about when prepping your salads for the week!
Give it a try and let me know what you think!
